Pancake Day - Peanut Butter & Banana Pancakes for dogs!
It's that glorious time of the year again where we can stuff our faces with pancakes without feeling guilty about it. Time to start raiding those cupboards to see what magnificent combinations we can come up with. Personally, I love a variety of fruit with honey or syrup.
But why should your dog be left out of all the fun???
I always like to keep Hendrix included and often I make pancakes for him and then don't have time or forget to make my own. This recipe we found doesn't need a lot of ingredients so even if you have forgot to stock up you probably have the ingredients already.
The best part is, it is super simple to make!
3 1/2 tablespoons of peanut butter (dog friendly of course!)
And that's it!
See, I told you it was simple!
Along with that you will need a frying pan, a bowl and a blender or mixer.
Chop up your banana and chuck it in your bowl.
Throw in the egg and peanut butter (Tip: To save on washing up you can let your furry assistant lick the spoon after the peanut butter)
Blend everything together into a batter mix
Heat the pan and then spoon in the mixture. We used coconut oil to grease the pan as its great for dogs!
Once one side is browned and the mixture is set, flip over to brown the other side.
Serve to your dog and watch them devour the lot in 5 seconds
If you wanted to you could always add on some dog friendly toppings such as:
Treats or broken up dog biscuits
More Peanut Butter
Cheese (if you want to go savoury)
Fruit such as Apples, Bananas or Blueberries (remember grapes and raisins are a no-go!)
Remember, No Chocolate!
So now when you are getting the puppy dog eyes while you make your pancakes, you can give in and give them their own!
Happy Pancake Day Everyone,
Emma & Hendrix
