Giving back: Charity Husky Calendar 2021

I am a firm believer that you should try to give back in life more than you take, so when a friend of mine contacted me suggesting a charity calendar idea I was more than happy to get onboard. Not that I needed further convincing but the fact that it was a charity calendar full of gorgeous huskies was just the icing on the cake as I am a sucker for a husky floof!

The calendar was born from a local husky playgroup that I take Hendrix too. I have made some wonderful friends through this group and so has Hendrix. I absolutely love watching the huskies play together and having the freedom to run. For anyone that owns a husky in the Nottingham or surrounding area you should check out Nottingham Husky off lead Pinxton Facebook group. The playgroup is usually held on a Sunday morning at Pawz Let Loose in Pinxton (just off junction 28 of the M1) and only costs £1 per hour per dog. Any leftover money after paying for the use of the space is saved and donated to charity. Unfortunately due to the current pandemic play groups are on hold but will hopefully be back in 2021.

So back to the calendar...

I wasn't short of willing volunteers to meet me for a photoshoot, sessions ranged from a walk in the woods, playtime in off lead fields, to intimate garden shoots and even a paddle in a lake! I was absolutely in my element having so many stunning huskies in front of my camera. If I could only photograph 1 breed for the rest of my life it would have to be huskies!

The result was a wonderful mix of different personalities and a true reflection on the beauty and quirkiness of the breed.

I would like to introduce you to the final 12 images of the Husky Calendar 2021:

January: Mia taken in Felley Woods, Underwood

February: Myah & Hunter taken at Jerry Green off lead field in Blidworth

March: Jacob taken at his home

April: Hendrix at Wolds Way Lavendar (my little poser)

May: Sky & Arty at Pawz Let Loose outdoor field. This photo completely sums up huskies!

June: Dakota at Bestwood Mills Lake. Fun fact, both me and Dakota's owner got barefoot and went in the lake for this shot....totally worth it!

July: Polar in his garden

August: Hunter in the heather at Sherwood Pines

September: Lizzie, our honorary husky, down the Erewash canal rocking her wheels!

October: Missy & Diesel at Fleurs Friendly Fields

November: Cody & Kiki in their garden

December: Luna at Sherwood Pines

Just a quick note, all these dogs were on lead unless they were in a secure field/their garden.

The creation of this calendar was kindly sponsored by Quileutes Raw Dog Food and Lilac Bone Dog Grooming, both based in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire. Please go and visit their websites/facebook pages and get in touch with them about their services. Especially if you are a fellow husky owner as they own 9 themselves and are British and World Champions with their Siberian Husky racing team.

The proceeds of these calendars will be split between 2 great husky causes, SHARE Husky rescue and Thunder's Fight.

Please take a moment to read up about these causes and if you can spare a donation for either, please do, no matter how small as every little bit will help.

We only have a limited amount of these calendars available, they cost £15 each plus postage. If you would like one, please drop me an email (ebibbyphotography@gmail.com) to reserve yours.

Thanks for reading,

Emma
