Here is what you need to know about booking your dog photography session
I like what I see, how do I book a session for my dog?
Great! Once you have decided which session is right for you just drop me an email or a phone call and let me know what you would like. We will have a chat and get to know each other a little better and I will get a better idea of exactly what you want from the session. There will be a little questionnaire to fill out, it is here that you can select which date suits you best and when I am free. Alternatively if you would like to view my calendar before you get in touch, you can do so here. Once we have finalised a date I will send you over a contract, signing this will secure your date.
Where do the sessions take place?
I cover most areas of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, Derby and select areas of Derbyshire. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss a specific area and I would be happy to try and find a compromise with you. Included with the session is travel within 15 miles of NG16 (Giltbrook). Please click here for map. For areas outside of that radius, there will be an additional travel cost of 45p per mile. The location of your session is up to you, it is often best to pick an area that your dog is comfortable with as they tend to be more relaxed. Certain parks and attractions charge a fee for photographers to use their location, these locations may occur an additional fee to you as I cannot cover this cost with the session fee, however I will advise you of this at the time of booking and we can always find an alternative. If you need any help deciding then I can make some suggestions. For cats or other pets the session usually takes place within the home.
I can't afford the package I want straight away, is there a payment plan?
Absolutely! I understand that photography is an investment and it is not always possible to afford these things upfront. Please do not hesitate to speak to me if you would rather pay for your artwork or images in installments and we can arrange something to suit the both of us. At the end of the day, I want you to get exactly what you want from my sessions and not have to compromise.
Hooray it is session day! What do I need to bring?
The easy answer is just you and your pet! However please take into consideration the location you have chosen and be sure to wear something suitable, on location shoots can sometimes be a bit muddy or wet so please wear clothing you will feel comfortable in and won't mind if they get a bit mucky. For your pet, especially dogs, please consider what they are wearing too. If you are going to put them in a harness, please note that this will not be removed from your finished photos. I will edit out any leads and owners from the background, but I will not edit out a harness from every shot.
My session is complete, now what do I need to do?
Sit back, relax and let me work my magic! Please allow 2 weeks from your session date for editing, this could vary and I could contact you sooner but I will aim to have them delivered in 14 days of the session. You will be given 2 options of how you would like to view your final images. You can either opt for a gallery reveal at your home where I will come to you and show you in person your final images. We can then sit and discuss your artwork options and I can help you decide on placement, size and style of your chosen artwork and you can book it there and then. Alternatively you can select to view your gallery online and buy your artwork via the gallery shop. You will be emailed a link to a private gallery where you can see all of your edited images and artwork options.
My session came with artwork included, how do I claim them?
If you opted for a package that has images and products included, I will be in touch once you have viewed your gallery to discuss these with you. If you have a gallery reveal at home then we will discuss this then and you can put your order in there and then. If you have chosen the online gallery then I will talk to you separately, please do not try to order them via the gallery or you will end up getting charged for them!
Do I get all of the images as digital files included in the session?
Unfortunately not. You have to think of those images like hand made products, of which time and skill has gone into creating them, therefor I'm not just going to give them away. For photographers, by giving away their digital files it is like an inventor giving away the blueprints to their product, it means that their work can be reproduced over and over again, given to other people, and even altered, and they not only have no control over what happens to their work, but also get no compensation or payment for it's use. So please do not be offended if some photographers refuse to give you the images on a disk or USB, they are only protecting their livelihood and work. You will get the option to purchase the files after the session if that is what you would like.
I can't make my session, what happens now?
Relax, these things happen. If life gets in the way, which it often does, and you would like to reschedule, you will be allowed to reschedule your session a maximum of 3 times. After this your session will be cancelled, you will be charged a £40 cancellation fee and you will have to book again.
In the event you change your mind and want to cancel your session after signing the contract, you will be charged a £40 cancellation fee to cover the cost of my time.
If the session is cancelled by the photographer (me) due to illness, emergency or anything else life throws our way, then if a reschedule date cannot be agreed upon by both parties, a full refund will be given
